Troubleshooting Workflow States
Guidance on resolving stuck or unexpected workflow states across OrviQ approvals.
1. Approval Submission Appears Stuck in "In Review"
- Symptom: A submitted crosswalk mapping or policy remains in review for an extended period.
- Cause: The assigned reviewer has not acted, or maker-checker segregation prevents the submitter from self-approving.
- Resolution:
- Open the item in the Approvals Hub (
/approvals) to check the currently assigned stage and reviewer. - If the reviewer is unavailable, a Tenant Administrator can reassign the workflow task.
- Open the item in the Approvals Hub (
2. Maker Cannot Approve Own Submission
- Symptom: A Compliance Manager who authored a mapping cannot click the Approve button.
- Cause: Maker-Checker enforcement strictly prevents the creator of an entity from signing off on their own submission.
- Resolution: A secondary qualified user holding the required role must review and approve the item.
3. Rejected Submission Actions
- Symptom: An approval was rejected and marked Rejected.
- Resolution: Open the decision review drawer to read the reviewer's feedback notes. Address the requested changes and submit a new revision.
